Just 21 kilometers (about 13 miles) from the bustling heart of Pucallpa, in the Peruvian jungle state of Ucayali, in the town of Nueva Nacion, the future of many children hangs in the balance. In this humble community, built on the dump, poverty doesn’t just limit access to food; it steals something far more fundamental: education.
Many of the children face low educational attainment, confronting an invisible yet giant obstacle: not knowing how to read or write. Without these basic skills, their paths to dignified employment and a full life are closed off before they can even begin.
