When Hope Begins to Shine Again

Josué G. is 42 years old. Since the age of 30 he has been struggling with diabetes. As time passed, his health status sank lower and lower.. Poor circulation in his legs caused his skin to darken and deteriorate dangerously, until doctors gave him the hardest news a person can receive: both legs needed to be amputated in order to save his life.
With no other option, Josué accepted the surgery. Since then, he has been living under the care of his mother and his aunt, who lovingly and tirelessly meet his every need, as he remains bedridden and fully dependent on them for mobility.
It was through a sister from church that we learned about his situation. And because AMOR Projects is called not only to teach, but also to serve and bring healing to those most in need, we decided to visit Josué.

It was through a sister from church that we learned about his situation. And because AMOR Projects is called not only to teach, but also to serve and bring healing to those most in need, we decided to visit Josué.
When we arrived at his home, we found Josué in pain with a deep pressure sore on his sacral area, caused by being unable to change positions. His mother and aunt told us they were doing everything they could, but the wound was not healing and was growing deeper and more painful each day.

Our medical mission team did not hesitate for a moment to help. With dedication and compassion, they began treating his wound, providing medication and constant care. But beyond the physical attention, Josué received what he himself describes as “relief for the soul”: the Word of God, which brought him hope, encouragement, and a reason to keep fighting.

Today, by God’s grace, Josué’s wound is healing. With tears in his eyes, he shares how grateful he feels:
“I give thanks because there are still people willing to help me without being disgusted by me or looking at me with indifference. Thank you, AMOR Projects donors. May God continue to guide you to others who need help, not only medically but also spiritually, like I do.”
