“Broken To Be Used”   

My name is Sara Abigail Macalopu Alcalde. I would like to share how I came to know the ministry of RestauradaMente. One day, a very special friend named Nela invited me to be part of the mental health meetings they hold, and everything has truly been a blessing for my life.

I came to this ministry when I was going through a very difficult time. My partner had made an attempt to kill me, which caused me trauma and mental health issues. I felt alone, without friends, filled with sadness and anxiety. I believed I had fallen into a pit from which it was hard to escape, and that’s when God opened the doors to RestauradaMente to teach me His word.

One of the things I highlight the most is that they have taught me how to connect with God through prayer and studying the Bible, which has deeply impacted my life. I am learning and discovering how important our minds are, our thoughts, and that every day, a battle between good and evil is fought there.

There are so many things our Lord Jesus Christ is willing to show us when we completely surrender to Him.

Through the WhatsApp group, I also met Giovanna, who for me is a leader who reflects Jesus. She kindly taught me how to promote God’s work. She inspired me with her leadership, and one day she gathered Jessebel, Adita, and me, telling us that together we would support the ministry. My eyes filled with tears because I knew God was calling me and giving me the opportunity to serve Christ, and I am just so grateful for it. I’ve always had the desire to serve God in His work, but until then, I didn’t know where or how to do it.

God is so good and merciful; He restores you, cleanses you, lifts you up, and does great things in our lives to then use us as His instruments. At RestauradaMente, I have found friendships that inspire me and help me grow spiritually so that I can glorify God’s name, using my gifts.

I am very thankful to God for bringing GYC and RestauradaMente ministries into my life. Here, every day I learn to take refuge in God’s love and let Him restore me. The reading clubs teach me about God’s character and the transforming power of His word. I know that God is currently guiding my life toward the plan He has for me.
